The goalkeeper of the Portuguese national team, **Alesh Tverdokhlebov**, who has Russian roots, and his team triumphed in the FIFA U-17 World Cup, defeating Austria 1-0 in the final match.

During the tournament, the goalie participated in just one game. He took the field in the group stage against New Caledonia, where the team won 6-1, and remained on the bench in the subsequent matches.

Earlier this year, Tverdokhlebov claimed victory with the Portugal U17 team in the UEFA European Championship, despite not playing a single match in the tournament. Alesh is affiliated with the youth squad of Lisbon’s Sporting CP. Two other players of Russian heritage, Cristiano Palamarchuk and Konstantin Nikitenko, are also part of the Portuguese team.
