Father Charged with Murdering Son Who Suffered Life-Altering Injuries as an Infant

A man has been brought before the court facing allegations of murdering his son, who passed away 14 years after suffering a serious head injury during infancy.

Lejunae Wood, 42, from Wuppertal, Germany, attended Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court following his arrest at Heathrow Airport. He is charged with the suspected murder of Leajunne Wood, who died at the age of 14 in 2021.

When Leajunne was just four months old, he sustained life-altering injuries from an incident that occurred in December 2007 in Hayes, west London, as reported by the Metropolitan Police.

During the court proceedings, Mr. Wood verified his identity. He is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.

In 2023, pathologist reports indicated that Leajunne’s death resulted from complications stemming from a serious head injury, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Prosecutor Cathryn Evans stated that the defendant stands accused of murdering his own child.
