Eddie Howe Reflects on Newcastles Third League Cup Semifinal Appearance in Four Seasons

The head coach of Newcastle United, Eddie Howe, shared his thoughts on the team reaching the semi-finals of the English League Cup, marking the third time in the last four seasons they’ve achieved this milestone. Newcastle secured their place in the semi-finals by defeating Fulham 2-1 in the quarter-finals.

“I believe that the players play a crucial role. We have some truly exceptional professionals. In previous years, we faced very challenging early rounds. The initial matches, whether at home or away, set the tone for the entire tournament.

This year was no different — our game against Bradford was extremely difficult. We had to work hard to manage it and stay in the game. As we progressed through the tournament, the more significant matches always teeter on the edge. These are tough games to win, but I must commend the mentality of our players. I think that’s the key to our success,” Howe stated, as reported by Newcastle’s official website.
