At the end of the first segment of qualifying for the 17th round of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, both cars from the Alpine team, driven by **Pierre Gasly** and **[Franco Colapinto](https://www.championat.com/auto/news-6170300-albon-razbil-bolid-v-pervom-segmente-kvalifikacii-gp-azerbajdzhana.html)**, went off the track in one of the corners.

Franco noticed Gasly was in the escape area and braked much earlier, but he lost control and crashed into the barrier. Frustrated, Franco exited his car and kicked the safety fence that his A525 had collided with.
Earlier in the qualifying session, Thai-British driver Alex Albon, racing for Williams, crashed his car.
