Dillashaw on Aspinalls Decision to Stop Fighting Gane: It Seems Tom Chose the Easy Way Out

Two-time UFC champion TJ Dillashaw from the United States commented on the outcome of the heavyweight title bout (up to 120 kg) between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane, which took place at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi (UAE). Recall that the fight was deemed a no contest due to an accidental eye poke.

“First of all, it was a foul, and Ciryl Gane is responsible for it. But judging by how it looked… his eye was shut when he got poked. He claimed he couldn’t see, but he didn’t even attempt to open it.

Of course, I wasn’t there. But you saw the photos afterward, and his eye looked fine. I’ve seen situations where someone had a whole finger poked in their eye, and the fight continued. I don’t know… Of course, this is just speculation, but it seems to me he chose the easier way out,” Dillashaw said on the JAXXON podcast.
