Detectives Launch Murder Probe After 85-Year-Old Found Dead in Streatham

Authorities have initiated a homicide investigation following the discovery of an 85-year-old man’s body at a residence in south London.

The finding was made by officers on Friday afternoon at an address located on Churchmore Road in Streatham.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the individual was declared deceased at the scene, exhibiting “multiple injuries.”

A 36-year-old suspect has been detained on murder charges, and investigators confirmed that they are not seeking any additional individuals related to this case at this time.

Formal identification has yet to occur, and a post-mortem examination is planned for the near future.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee commented, “We are diligently striving to reconstruct the events that transpired on Churchmore Road yesterday and extend our sincere sympathies to the victim’s family and others impacted by this unfortunate occurrence. Our presence in the area will remain heightened as we proceed with our investigation.”
