Daniil Medvedev: For Me, the Australian Open is Non-Existent Right Now

The 12th-ranked tennis player in the world, Russian athlete **[Daniil Medvedev](https://www.example.com)**, addressed the question of whether his victory at the ATP 250 tournament in Brisbane boosted his confidence heading into the Australian Open.

“As for confidence, things were different in 2024 because I arrived in Australia without having played a tournament. My first match was a challenge for me, and my opponent faced difficulties earlier on. For the second match, I was on the verge of losing to Ruusuvuori. Overall, it was a rather unusual tournament; it’s unclear how I ended up in the final, and I almost won it. Right now, my perspective is different; as I said, I’m not really thinking about the Australian Open yet. I’m really pleased about my win in Brisbane and plan to savor this victory for a day or two. I’m not sure, but I think we won’t play tennis for a couple of days. Perhaps we’ll head to the beach or something. Also, we need to make our way to Melbourne, so we’ll just focus on enjoying some pleasant activities for now.

When the time comes, I’ll prepare for the tournament. Naturally, such a win helps, but every match is a different story, so I’ll do my best to carry this confidence with me to Melbourne,” Medvedev shared on the YouTube channel “Bol’she!”.
