The publication Fandango has shared a new exclusive still from the film “The Black Phone 2,” featuring Ethan Hawke as the killer.

“The Black Phone” is an adaptation of a story by Joe Hill, who is the son of Stephen King. The first installment focused on a terrifying masked murderer who abducted children. At one point, he captures a boy named Finney Blake, leaving him seemingly without hope. However, Finney begins receiving calls on a disconnected phone from the killer’s previous victims, who aim to assist him in escaping the clutches of the child predator.

Scott Derrickson returns as the director for the sequel, which is set to premiere on October 17.
