Brave Descent: Royal Marines Launch Poppy Appeal from Waterloo with a Mission of Remembrance

Royal Marines descended via ropes at Waterloo Station to kick off The Royal British Legion’s (RBL) London Poppy Appeal.

On Thursday, approximately 3,000 active military personnel are set to sell poppies across London with the ambition of raising £1 million for the RBL’s Poppy Appeal.

This occasion, recognized as Europe’s largest single-day street fundraising event, featured military bands entertaining commuters at prominent stations. It marked the 19th annual “Poppy Day” fundraiser in London.

Rob Rinder, who participated alongside collectors, remarked, “The poppy represents not only remembrance but also gratitude and solidarity. It serves as a reminder that our freedoms came at a high price, and we all have a duty to support those who have served.”
