Three individuals have been taken into custody regarding the deadly assault on a woman in East London.

According to the Metropolitan Police, officers were dispatched to Chadwell Heath just after 05:30 BST on Saturday following reports of an attack.

Emergency medical personnel were also present; however, the woman, thought to be in her twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene on Chadwell Heath Lane, the police stated.

A 35-year-old man has been apprehended on suspicion of murder, while two other men, aged 21 and 22, have been arrested for allegedly aiding an offender.

The woman’s family has been notified and is receiving support from liaison officers, the police added.

Detective Superintendent Brian Hobbs commented, “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends during this profoundly tragic time.

“Residents in the area can expect to see an increased police presence as we continue our investigation.”

He encouraged anyone with relevant information to reach out to the police.
