Anisimova Reflects on Wimbledon Heartbreak: Tears Only Found on the Court

The ninth-ranked player in the world, American tennis star **[Amanda Anisimova](https://www.example.com)**, shared how she managed to cope psychologically with her defeat in the 2025 Wimbledon final against Polish player **Iga Swiatek**, losing 0-6, 0-6.

**– On July 12, you were in tears. How did you manage to turn things around and arrive at today’s smiles and achievements?**
– To be honest, I really cried a lot only on the court, and maybe another 30 minutes after the match. But then I called someone, and we just laughed about it. I thought, “Yes, this is crazy.” But I don’t know, I feel like I was able to recover quite quickly. A few years ago, I might not have handled it as well as I have now. But yes, it was something completely new for me. I had never lost 0-6, 0-6, especially not 0-6 in a Grand Slam final — it was overwhelming.

Today, I truly feel proud of myself. I believe I proved to myself and maybe to others that if you maintain a positive attitude or at least try to push through everything, you can achieve good results. I feel like I really did everything right. So, I’m very happy, – Anisimova stated at a press conference after reaching the semifinals of the **[2025 US Open](https://www.example.com)**.
