A video has emerged showing the arrest of American basketball player Jared Shaw in Indonesia. He was detained for attempting to smuggle candies containing delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, which is one of the primary and most well-known active ingredients in marijuana. During the arrest, the athlete repeatedly shouted “Help!”
Jared Shaw was apprehended on May 7, following a tip-off from airport customs officials, who noted a suspicious package addressed to him from Thailand. Upon searching Shaw’s apartment, authorities found 132 cannabis-infused candies. In Indonesia, he could face a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, life imprisonment, or even the death penalty.
