Met Police Officer Fired for Off-Duty Sexual Assault in Beauty Clinic Amidst Integrity Concerns

A Metropolitan Police officer has been dismissed following a misconduct hearing where it was revealed he sexually assaulted a woman while off duty at a beauty clinic.

PC Mark Thomas committed the assault on August 3, 2022, during a treatment session, according to the police. Cambridgeshire Police concluded a criminal inquiry into his conduct, stating that the “evidential threshold was not met.”

Scotland Yard indicated that he had “violated the professional standards concerning authority, respect, courtesy, and engaged in discreditable behavior.”

Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Stancombe remarked, “PC Thomas’ conduct is especially troubling considering he attempted to use the beauty treatment as a facade to perpetrate the crime.”

After the conclusion of the misconduct hearing, he stated, “This must have been a horrific ordeal for the victim, and I applaud their courage in coming forward.”

“We remain committed to eliminating individuals who compromise our integrity from the organization,” Stancombe added.

Additionally, PC Thomas neglected to declare the beauty clinic as a business interest.
