“João Fonseca has decided to withdraw from the Next Gen ATP Finals – 2025. The athlete is currently focused on recovering from an injury sustained at the end of the 2025 season. We wish João all the best in his recovery and preparations for the 2026 ATP Tour season,” the tournament’s press office announced on its official social media account.

The 19-year-old João Fonseca clinched two titles in the 2025 season, triumphing at tournaments in Basel, Switzerland, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
