Russia Announces Capture of Two More Villages in Southern Ukraine Amid Ongoing Conflict

On Sunday, the Russian military announced the capture of two additional villages in southern Ukraine, where their forces are gradually making progress against outnumbered Ukrainian troops.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Telegram that its soldiers had seized Rivnopillia and Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

While the frontlines in Zaporizhzhia are relatively quieter compared to the eastern front, where most of the intense fighting is taking place, Russian troops, who are better equipped and more numerous than their Ukrainian counterparts, are making headway in both areas.

The east is currently witnessing clashes focused on the strategic logistical center of Pokrovsk, which has seen an influx of hundreds of Russian soldiers infiltrating in recent weeks, thereby undermining Ukrainian defenses.

Negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow are at a standstill, and a proposed summit in Budapest featuring U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin did not materialize.
