IOC Addresses Concerns Over Ice Arena Readiness for 2026 Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has issued a statement regarding concerns about the readiness of the ice arena for the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy.

“The organizing committee, led by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), will oversee the final preparations to ensure that the ‘Milan Santa Giulia’ arena meets the highest standards and expectations of all participants, including players, officials, spectators, and partners, in a truly unique Olympic environment.

A test event is scheduled for early January at the arena, allowing for a final assessment of operational capabilities and ice conditions. We are confident that the ice hockey competitions will take place at world-class venues, providing each participant with an exceptional Olympic experience,” the IOC’s statement was quoted by The Athletic.
