Alexey Simakov joined “Metallurg” as an assistant coach in January 2025, where he assisted Yuriy Trubachyov primarily with power play strategies. Prior to his tenure at “Metallurg,” Simakov served as an assistant coach for “Gornyak” in the VHL and was the head coach at “Avto” in the MHL.

The head coach of “Metallurg” is Andrey Razin. This season, the Magnitogorsk team was eliminated in the first round of the Gagarin Cup, losing to Omsk’s “Avangard” in a six-game series.
