The head coach of the Edmonton Oilers, Chris Noblock, announced that Russian forward Vasily Podkolzin will be rejoining the team ahead of their final preseason match against the Vancouver Canucks on October 4. This information was reported by Sportsnet.

On September 25, 2025, Podkolzin left the team’s facilities to return to Russia following the passing of his father.
