Socis Coach Moreno Fined 300,000 Rubles for Insulting Referees

The head of the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFS) Arthur Grigoryants announced that the head coach of FC Sochi, Robert Moreno, has been fined 300,000 rubles for insulting the referees.

“We reviewed the post-match interview of FC Sochi’s head coach Robert Moreno, in which he stated: ‘The refereeing today was very disgraceful.’ Any expressions that include the word ‘disgrace’ in reference to someone’s conduct are deemed to be insulting.

Robert Moreno acknowledged his mistake and promised not to use offensive language in the future. Since this incident was not documented in the match report and Moreno was not sent off at the time, he is being fined 300,000 rubles for inappropriate behavior,” reported Vladimir Chetverik, a correspondent for “Championship.”
