South Western Railway has advised passengers against attempting to travel on its network due to significant signalling issues at London Waterloo.
The railway company reported that “only a handful of trains” could operate in and out of the station, resulting in some trains and crews being “already stranded.”
A ‘do not travel’ advisory has been issued following the incident, which rendered 14 platforms at Waterloo non-operational. A spokesperson noted that this situation had “greatly reduced capacity.”
“We hope to resume some services later today, but these will likely face delays and changes,” they stated.
“Passengers are encouraged to check for further updates. We sincerely apologize for the disruption caused to journeys this morning.”
