In the final of this tournament, the Portuguese national team faced off against Spain. The match ended in a 2-2 draw after regular time. However, the team led by Roberto Martinez prevailed in the penalty shootout, winning 5-3.

Ronaldo was substituted in the 88th minute of the match due to an injury. The 40-year-old player participated in nine matches during the recent Nations League campaign, scoring eight goals and providing one assist.
