Rafael Nadals Record-Breaking Racket Auctioned for $157,000

The Babolat racket used by Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal in the final of the 2017 French Open was auctioned off for a remarkable $157,300, setting a record for the highest sale price of a tennis racket. ESPN reported this news. In that match, Nadal triumphed over Swiss player Stan Wawrinka with a score of 6:2, 6:3, 6:1.

The previous record also belonged to a racket used by Nadal, which sold for $139,700 in 2023. This was the racket he employed during the 2022 Australian Open, where he claimed his last Grand Slam title. In the final, he staged a comeback against Russian Daniil Medvedev, winning the match with scores of 2:6, 6:7 (5:7), 6:4, 6:4, 7:5.

Rafael Nadal ended his career in 2024 at the Davis Cup.
