Tube Network Speeds into the Future: High-Speed Mobile Coverage Expands Across London Underground by Year-End

According to Transport for London (TfL), an increasing number of stations and underground segments of the Tube network in London now offer high-speed mobile coverage, which includes the inaugural sections of the Circle and District lines.

The entire Elizabeth line boasts full coverage, along with Euston Square, Cannon Street, and Battersea Power Station.

King’s Cross St Pancras, Gloucester Road, Warwick Avenue, and Vauxhall are expected to go live in the coming months.

TfL has also indicated that the vast majority of the Northern and Metropolitan lines should have coverage in their tunnels by the end of summer 2026.

This coverage will support the new Emergency Services Network, which, once fully implemented, will provide first responders with immediate access to vital data.

Installation efforts will persist throughout 2026, focusing on areas outside of central London and on smaller tunnel sections that require individual attention.

Approximately 400 engineers are consistently working overnight on this initiative.

This project aligns with the mayor’s commitment to enhance digital connectivity in London in order to stimulate innovation, productivity, and economic growth.
