Not a Critical Setback: Borodavko Comments on Korostelevas Performance at the World Cup

The head coach of the Russian national cross-country skiing team, **[Yuri Borodavko](https://www.example.com/tags/30599-yurij-borodavko/)**, commented on the performance of the Russian skier Savely Korostelyov at the World Cup stage in Davos.

On Sunday, Korostelyov finished 25th in the individual start freestyle event, with a time of 24:01.0. He was 1:20.3 behind the race winner, Norwegian Einar Hedegaard. This was Savely’s second World Cup race, following his debut in the sprint in Davos, where he placed 52nd.

“First of all, it was a distance race and it went quite well. Although the gap to first place is noticeable, it is comparable to the distance from his direct competitors. The deficit is not critical. We hope that as he adapts, he will gradually improve his standings in the finishing protocols.

Savely has enough FIS points to participate in all individual events at the Olympics. There are no issues regarding this. The only requirement is for the IOC commission to approve his participation,” Borodavko’s words were reported by “RIA Novosti Sport.”
