The London Millennium Footbridge, is a metal suspension bridge for pedestrians crossing the River Thames in London, linking Bankside with the Metropolis of London. Development started in 1998, and it initially opened in June 2000.
Londoners nicknamed it the "Wobbly Bridge" after pedestrians skilled an alarming swaying movement on its opening day. The bridge was closed later that day and, after two days of restricted entry, closed once more for nearly two years whereas modifications and repairs have been made to maintain the bridge secure. It reopened in February 2002.
