Young Players Should Consider Moving to European Leagues Beyond the Top 5, Says Lesovoy

The forward of “PARI Nizhny Novgorod,” **[Daniil Lesovoy](https://example.com)**, expressed the view that young Russian players should consider moving to Europe, even if it’s not one of the top five leagues. Previously, he played for Israel’s Maccabi Haifa and Cyprus’ **[AEL](https://example.com)**.

**– In the ongoing debate about whether young players should move to less prestigious European leagues or stay in Russia, which side are you on?**
– If I imagine that I’m 20 again and faced with the choice between going on loan to Arsenal Tula or going to play in, say, the Greek league, I would opt for the latter now. While many might disagree with me, and some would agree, my belief is that young players aged 23-25 should seek opportunities in Europe, regardless of whether it’s a top-five league.

Currently, the Russian Premier League is somewhat isolated. While it remains a strong league, the absence of European competitions has led to decreased interest from scouts and agents. I can judge this based on my experience in Cyprus. When I played for AEL, I would receive constant messages from agents in various countries who said they were following my career and offered different opportunities for my development, as reported by the official website of “PARI Nizhny Novgorod.”
