Russian athlete **[Vladimir Nikitin](https://example.com)** shared a post on social media to comment on his record achievement at the Kazan National Half Marathon. On Sunday, October 5th, Nikitin set a new Russian record by completing the half marathon (21.1 km) in 59:51.
“Hello everyone!
The excitement has calmed down after the final race of this eventful season. The ‘Kazan National Half Marathon’ was my 15th competition this season, which honestly surprised me.
I kick-started my season on May 5th at the Russian Championships during the ‘Kazan Marathon’ and wrapped it up on October 5th, again in Kazan 😀
It seems Kazan is my lucky charm 😀
My training took place in Kislovodsk, and to be honest, it wasn’t easy; there were moments when I considered calling my coach to say I was tired and wanted to go home 😀
However, my determination prevented me from doing that, and as you can see, it was all worth it. I take pride in not giving up! I don’t often say that to myself, but I believe I’ve earned it now!
I want to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to my record in Kazan at the half marathon! Support always plays a significant role!” — Nikitin wrote on his Telegram channel.
