Former midfielder and captain of Spartak, **Egor Titov**, has expressed that the head coach of Spartak, **Dejan Stankovic**, can count on the backing of the club’s veterans. Since the start of the season, there have been rumors regarding the Serbian coach’s potential dismissal due to unsatisfactory results.
“I don’t think Stankovic will resign. There are many rumors that the Spartak board is dissatisfied. They are likely considering alternative options, possibly more than one. A lot will depend on the upcoming matches. The outcome of the game against Krylia is more crucial than ever. Fans want to see a performance — something that has regrettably been lacking in recent matches. I believe that with the return of Barco and Marquinhos, the style of play will improve significantly.
As veterans of Spartak, we will continue to support Dejan while he remains the head coach, no matter what. He is our head coach. I am confident that the team trusts him, which is why he has such a good rapport with the players,” said Titov in an interview with Championship correspondent Ilya Nikulnikov.
It’s worth mentioning that after being sent off in the match against Dynamo Moscow in the 8th round of the RPL (2:2), Stankovic was suspended for a month by the RFU Disciplinary Committee.
Currently, Spartak is positioned eighth in the RPL standings with 12 points.
