Suspect Arrested in Disturbing Attacks on North-West London Synagogues: Charges Filed for Racially Motivated Criminal Damage

A man has been arrested in relation to a series of assaults targeting synagogues in north-west London.

Ionut-Cristian Bold, a 37-year-old with no permanent address, faces six charges of racially or religiously motivated criminal damage, along with one charge of racially or religiously aggravated harassment without violence.

From September 4 to September 11, authorities reported that four synagogues and a private home in Golders Green were defaced with a substance, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Additional incidents, which law enforcement described as “disgusting and shocking,” involved a liquid being thrown at a school and over a vehicle. It is believed that both the substance and the liquid involved were bodily fluids.

Bold also faces three charges for the destruction or damage of property, plus one charge for possessing an item with the intention to destroy or damage property.

He has been remanded to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Superintendent Zubin Writer, who oversees policing in Barnet, Brent, and Harrow, stated, “We take allegations of this kind very seriously, and these charges are a result of a thorough investigation by our local officers.

“We continue to provide support to the community, including members of the Jewish population.”
