Sheremetyevo Airport, the largest airport in Moscow, is set to increase service charges for both domestic and international airlines starting in January, as reported by Russian media citing the airport’s announcement.
Russian airlines, such as Aeroflot, Rossiya, and Pobeda, will experience a 10% hike in fees related to security, terminal usage, and landing and takeoff operations. Furthermore, there will also be a 10% increase in passenger service fees for all flights, whether domestic or international.
Foreign carriers will face a 3% rise in their service charges, as outlined in the airport’s documents.
Sheremetyevo is not the only airport making changes to its pricing structure. Vnukovo Airport in Moscow adjusted its fees back in March, while Domodedovo Airport implemented similar increases in both March and July.
According to RBK, Sheremetyevo has seen significant growth in passenger traffic in recent years. In 2023, the airport accommodated 36.6 million passengers, marking a 29% increase compared to 2022, and is expected to serve around 43.7 million passengers in 2024, reflecting an approximate 20% year-on-year growth.
