Sergachyov: Russia Would Boast an Incredible Olympic Team Featuring the Greatest Sniper

The defender of the Utah Mammoths, **Mikhail Sergachev**, commented on the absence of the Russian national team at the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy.

“It’s clear that we would have had an amazing team with the greatest sniper of all time. We would also have the best goalkeepers in the league. Bobrovsky is phenomenal and will likely enter the Hall of Fame. The same goes for Shesterkin and Sorokin. They are all outstanding. I admire them all; they are good friends of mine. But for me, Vasilevskiy is something truly special.

We would have had a fantastic squad, and it would be wonderful to come together again. However, discussing it isn’t easy. It’s sad, but it is what it is. Right now, it’s important not to dwell on it or overthink it. We have NHL games every day. At least, I don’t spend much time thinking about it. But it would be great if a return could happen,” Sergachev told ESPN.
