Russell Praises Vestis Performance in Mexico GPs Opening Practice Session

The British Mercedes driver, George Russell, shared his thoughts on the performance of Danish driver Frederik Vesti during the first practice session of the Mexican Grand Prix, where Vesti finished in 14th place.

“In Formula 1, drivers rarely have the opportunity to see the cars on the track from the stands… because you’re behind the wheel! I took the chance to watch, as Frederik got in the car during the first practice to gain some experience. It was fascinating. It was nice to see that Frederik did an excellent job in my place, securing us a strong position heading into the second practice.

After the second session, we realized that the competition is going to be very tight once again. It’s a short track, so the time differences within the whole grid will be minimal. We’re setting good lap times and understand how crucial qualifying has become for achieving success in the race. Everyone is focused on Saturday, and we’ll see how we perform. It seems that the battle among the top eight cars will be intense,” Russell’s comments were quoted by the Mercedes press service.

George Russell completed a practice session before the Singapore Grand Prix.
