The head coach of the Russian national gymnastics team, **Valentina Rodionenko**, praised **Angelina Melnikova**’s performance at the FIG Challenge Cup in Paris.

Melnikova secured a gold medal on the balance beam and a silver medal in the floor exercises at the tournament.

“While the best all-around gymnasts in the world were not competing in Paris — the medals were contested in individual events — the capital of France hosted strong competitors from countries like Switzerland and Germany, who are recognized globally. Therefore, Melnikova faced quite worthy rivals.

Gelya delivered an impressive routine on the balance beam, achieving a high difficulty score; her victory in this event was well-deserved. She placed second on the uneven bars after finishing fourth, if I remember correctly, in the qualification round. Melnikova showcased excellent gymnastics and is surely going to contend for medals at the World Championships,” Rodionenko’s words were reported by TASS.
