Prolific West London Shoplifter Sentenced to a Year Behind Bars After Stealing £100,000 in Goods from Boots

A habitual shoplifter who amassed over £100,000 worth of merchandise from Boots outlets in west London has been sentenced to prison.

Liam Hutchinson, 31, committed 99 thefts between May and August, frequently pilfering significant amounts of electrical goods and razors in the Chelsea and Kensington areas.

Authorities scrutinized hundreds of hours of surveillance footage, photographs, and witness testimonies to compile a compelling case against him.

At Westminster Magistrates’ Court, Hutchinson received a 12-month prison sentence.

Additionally, he has been issued a Criminal Behaviour Order that prohibits him from entering any Boots store in the UK for the next decade and bars him from the borough of Chelsea and Kensington for the following five years.

Sgt Jack Vine of the Met Police remarked that the punishment “should serve as a deterrent” to those who “exploit retail staff and cause businesses significant financial losses.”
