Police Make Significant Breakthrough in New Years Eve Stabbing Case: Two Arrested After Tragic Death

A man and a teenager have been detained following the fatal stabbing of a 23-year-old in southeast London on New Year’s Eve.

Authorities were summoned to Grove Street in Deptford at 12:35 GMT on December 31st.

John Temitope Onetufo, who resided in Deptford, sustained a fatal stab wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the location, as reported by the Metropolitan Police.

A 23-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy are now in custody on murder charges.

Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend from the Met stated, “I can confirm that two individuals have been apprehended in relation to this heartbreaking event. This marks an important development, yet our inquiry is still in progress as we strive to uncover the complete details of what transpired.”
