A man who completed a trek from London to Brighton without taking a break expressed his desire to inspire discussions surrounding mental health and self-belief.
Bhupinder Sandhu, a mindfulness coach residing in Gravesend, Kent, has previously undertaken long-distance walks from London to Wales and London to Edinburgh to fundraise for the charity Mind.
His most recent endeavor began at Trafalgar Square in London at 20:00 BST on April 19, where he walked non-stop for 100 kilometers (62 miles) to Brighton Palace Pier, reaching his destination at 17:00 the next day.
“While I’m walking, people often approach me to discuss mental health, which is encouraging to see,” stated Mr. Sandhu.
“My main goal is to encourage individuals to speak about their mental health struggles; however, many feel apprehensive about doing so.
“This needs to change, yet not much progress has been made.”
Later this month, Mr. Sandhu plans to walk the full 298 kilometers (185 miles) of the Thames Path as part of his “million step May” initiative.
This is all part of his preparation for an upcoming walk from London to Paris in August, which will also support the charity Mind.
