Two-time world champion and Olympic medalist from the 2018 PyeongChang Games, Russian figure skater **[Evgenia Medvedeva](https://www.example.com/tags/23398-evgenija-medvedeva/)**, shared her reasons for relocating to Canada for training after the 2018 Olympics.
“There was an opportunity to completely change my environment and move to a place where I wouldn’t face daily interviews. How does it feel to lose? After the Olympics, I was sitting in a restaurant when people approached me, and I was just eating my salad. They would say things like, ‘We feel so sorry for you!’ Why is that?
I was constantly being pitied. They would say, ‘We were rooting for you, it’s so sad that you didn’t succeed.’ Nobody was saying, ‘Congratulations on the silver, Evgenia.’ The medal is there, it’s a fact; I have the silver. What I feel inside doesn’t matter anymore, it’s just stating the obvious,” Medvedeva remarked on the show “Veshchdoki.”
As a reminder, at the 2018 Olympic Games in PyeongChang, Medvedeva won two silver medals, one in the individual competition and another in the team event.
