A 17-year-old male and a 16-year-old female have been taken into custody by law enforcement concerning the tragic deaths of two kittens in Ruislip, located in west London.

After their detention on Monday, the young individuals were formally charged with inflicting unnecessary suffering upon an animal and possessing a sharp weapon in a public area.

The police investigation commenced when two kittens were discovered in a field near Ruislip Golf Course on May 3, showing signs of having been tortured and mutilated.

The teenagers are set to appear before Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Following the grim find, authorities sought the public’s help, releasing surveillance footage of potential suspects and an image of a black bag believed to have been utilized for transporting the animals.

Previously, a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl were apprehended in relation to the case but were subsequently released without any charges, as reported by the police.
