An armed robber who attempted to force entry into the bedroom of Hollywood star Anya Taylor-Joy while she was at a lavish London residence has been sentenced to prison.

Kirk Holdrick, 43, was among two masked individuals who violently broke into the upscale property, which the Wood Green Crown Court suggested might have been a targeted attack.

In November, Holdrick received a 12-year prison sentence for a home invasion in Dorset, during which a mother and daughter were bound and threatened with harm. He has now received an additional three-year sentence after admitting to breaking into the London residence.

Hailing from Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, Holdrick was identified in court as a repeat offender with a criminal record dating back to his youth.

On February 12, 2023, Taylor-Joy and her spouse, Malcolm McRae, were at the London residence when they heard the sound of a window being shattered.

McRae confronted the intruders before barricading himself and his wife in a bedroom, which the robbers attempted to break into.

Armed only with a lamp, he managed to intimidate the intruders by pretending to have a firearm, which caused them to abandon the attempt and flee empty-handed.

Prosecutors indicated that the burglars’ actions suggested they were not merely after valuables but may have sought to specifically target the high-profile couple.

Following the incident, the couple expressed to authorities their feelings of trauma and the fear of being targeted again.

The actress, renowned for her roles in *The Queen’s Gambit*, the *Dune* series, and *Peaky Blinders*, appeared on the BAFTA red carpet just a week after the terrifying incident.

Holdrick was apprehended on April 18, 2023, as he disembarked from a ferry traveling from Belfast to Liverpool.

He initially claimed familiarity with the property from attending a party, suggesting that was how his DNA ended up there.

However, he later retracted this defense and entered a guilty plea for burglary in mid-December of the previous year.

Just nine days following the break-in at the London mansion, Holdrick was involved in a separate home invasion where he held a mother and daughter at gunpoint, binding them and threatening them.

Together with his accomplice, Ashley Fulton, he disguised himself as a police officer during the break-in at the residence of wealthy businessman Mark Aitchison in Sandbanks, overlooking Poole Harbour in Dorset.

Aitchison’s wife, Kerry, was threatened with death unless she opened the family safe.

When their daughter Emily returned home unexpectedly, she too was restrained and threatened.

The intruders told her they would kill her in front of her mother and demanded the location of the iron, stating, “We want to burn you.”

The pair made off with luxury watches, designer handbags, jewelry, and cash valued at £200,000, but left behind a substantial amount of DNA evidence.

Law enforcement managed to track down the getaway car and recovered vaping devices from within.

Holdrick, who once had a brief romantic involvement with a cast member of *The Only Way Is Essex*, was previously sentenced to life in prison in 2005 for armed robberies targeting a security van.

He was recalled to serve out his life sentence following his latest crimes.

In November, he was sentenced to 12 years for the Sandbanks robbery, with an additional four years on license should he be released, after pleading guilty in Bournemouth Crown Court to two counts of robbery, possession of an imitation firearm, and fraud.
