Former CSKA Moscow footballer **Alexander Grishin** commented on the recent performances of Moscow’s **Spartak** in the Russian Premier League. In the 6th round, the red-and-whites secured a victory against **Rubin** (2-0), and in the 5th round, they drew with **Zenit** (2-2).

“Spartak performed impressively in the first half against **Lokomotiv**, during the entire match against **Zenit**, and also away against **Rubin**. I’ve said multiple times that I hope **Dejan Stankovic** remains at the helm of Spartak. Stankovic has found the right approach! He has established an effective formation with three defenders and created a solid partnership between Barco and Ugalde in attack. True, Ugalde hasn’t scored yet, but he is getting chances, and as we’ve always said, ‘if there are chances, the goals will come’,” Grishin stated during a broadcast on **Match TV**.

In the Russian league standings, **Krasnodar** leads with 15 points after six matches. CSKA is in second place with 14 points, followed by **Lokomotiv**, also with 14 points. Spartak currently sits in eighth place. In their next domestic match, the red-and-whites will face **Sochi** at their home ground.
