Commentator Vladimir Maelstorm Kuzminov reported on his Telegram channel that former players from the Gaimin Gladiators roster for Dota 2 are preparing a countersuit.
Details regarding who is behind this lawsuit and when it will be filed remain undisclosed. Earlier in October, the organization initiated legal proceedings against four former players: Quinn “Quinn” Callahan, Marcus “Ace” Hoelgaard, Eric “tOfu” Engel, and Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov.
The club is seeking to recover 7.5 million Canadian dollars (approximately $5.3 million) from the players. The lawsuit stems from breaches of contract and statements made by Quinn that allegedly led to a Russian betting company terminating a $3 million sponsorship deal.
It is worth noting that in August, the team withdrew from The International 2025, opting to participate in the tournament independently of the organization. This decision marked a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict, which has now shifted to a legal arena.
