Dakota Johnsons Comedy The Unruly Banned from Russian Theaters

The comedy “The Taming” starring Dakota Johnson will not be released in Russian theaters. This information was announced by the company “Atmosfera Kino,” which was set to be the film’s distributor in the country.

In an interview with “The Distributor’s Bulletin,” Arna Media’s head, Nadezhda Motina, confirmed that the film did not receive a distribution certificate. She believes that the Ministry of Culture’s decision has harmed not only Russian companies and audiences but also the country’s budget.

“The Taming” tells the story of the main characters, Connor and Ashley, who are facing a crisis in their relationship. In search of a solution, they decide to experiment as their friends Paul and Julie did, exploring open relationships with other people. However, the experiment quickly spirals out of control.

The film stars Dakota Johnson (“Fifty Shades of Grey”), Adria Arjona (“Andor”), and Kyle Marvin (“The Other Side”). It is directed by Michael Angelo Covino (“The Climb”).
