Former Bellator and ONE champion Ben Askren criticized the legendary 37-year-old Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor for sharing a sparring video with fans.

“What does beating up poorly prepared fighters prove? Does it make you better? These videos are pointless,” Askren stated on the social media platform X.

The first-ever dual champion in UFC history has not competed under mixed martial arts rules since July 2021, when he lost by technical knockout (due to a leg injury) in the first round to former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
