Icardi Rejects €120 Million Saudi Offer to Stay Loyal to Galatasaray

The striker for Turkey’s Galatasaray, **Mauro Icardi**, turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023. The proposed three-year contract amounted to over €120 million.

“In the summer of 2023, he rejected a Saudi Arabian offer exceeding €120 million for three years because he felt a connection with the fans and decided to remain at the club,” said the player’s agent, Jorge Gardia, as reported by [Fichajes](https://www.fichajes.com/a4812897614182164105-mauro-icardi-rechazo-120-millones-de-euros).

Icardi’s transfer from French club Paris Saint-Germain to Galatasaray was finalized in 2023, after which the proposal from the Middle Eastern league came in.

Although the 32-year-old sometimes comes off the bench in the current season, he has netted six goals in 11 appearances in the national league. His existing contract with the Istanbul club is set to expire next summer.
