Forward and captain of the Portuguese national team, Cristiano Ronaldo, believes that fans of the Irish national team will boo him during their upcoming match in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which is set to take place today, November 13. The game will be held at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

“It’s clear that I will be booed at the stadium. I hope this will relieve some pressure from my teammates. We understand that this match is not decisive, yet it is significant since winning it would secure our spot in the World Cup.

If one team is constantly defending, it’s natural for the referee to strive to protect the flow of the game. I believe that the quality of the match and the players should take precedence over everything else. But those are just words. I hope Portugal delivers a strong performance and handles the situation well,” Ronaldo stated at the press conference.
