Oxford Student Detained After Allegedly Inciting Racial Hatred at Pro-Palestinian March

A student from the University of Oxford has reportedly been taken into custody after being seen allegedly shouting for Gaza to “put the Zios in the ground” during a pro-Palestinian rally.

Authorities from the Metropolitan Police announced the arrest of a 20-year-old man on suspicion of promoting racial hatred, stemming from chants captured on film at a Palestine Coalition event in central London on Saturday.

Footage appeared to show an individual instructing the crowd that the chant had been “workshopped” at Oxford.

The University of Oxford confirmed that a student was arrested early Wednesday morning but stated that they had not been informed of the specifics behind the arrest.
