Tursunov Analyzes Medvedevs Defeat in Shanghai: Rinderknech Did Everything Right

Former world number 20 and now coach, **Dmitry Tursunov**, shared his thoughts on the defeat of the 2021 US Open champion and current world number 18, Russian tennis player **Daniil Medvedev**, at the Shanghai Masters. In the semifinal match, Medvedev lost to Frenchman **Arthur Rinderknech** with a score of 6-4, 2-6, 4-6.

“Emotions got the better of Daniil since he wasn’t entirely sure how to react. I believe Rinderknech made the right move by serving a lot of slice shots, approaching the net, and keeping Daniil moving around the court. Naturally, fatigue set in, especially considering Daniil’s age and current physical condition. Rinderknech executed his game plan perfectly today,” Tursunov remarked during a broadcast on BB Tennis.

In the final of the Shanghai Masters, Rinderknech will face his cousin Valantin Vacherot, who represents Monaco.
