Man Arrested After CS Gas Sparks Heathrow Terminal Evacuation

A man has been taken into custody on charges of possessing CS gas and creating a public disturbance after part of Heathrow Airport was evacuated on Monday evening.

At around 17:00 BST on Monday, hundreds of individuals had to leave Terminal 4, with access re granted around 20:00.

Though no dangerous substances were located, the Metropolitan Police did uncover a canister of CS spray, and the London Ambulance Service attended to 20 individuals for symptoms of “irritation.”

Scotland Yard has indicated that the situation is not being investigated as a terrorism-related incident, and the 57-year-old suspect remains in police custody.
