Ex-Spartak Coach Pilipchuk: Russian Premier League Has Not Weakened in Recent Years

The head coach of Chelyabinsk, **Roman Pilipchuk**, who has experience working with Spartak, shared his thoughts on the standard of football in the Russian Premier League. In his view, the quality of the domestic championship has not diminished in recent years.

**“Since your return from abroad, have you noticed any significant changes in the Russian Premier League? Opinions about the level of football can sometimes be quite polarized.”**
— “To answer this question, one needs to analyze the teams more thoroughly, which is something I used to do at Spartak. Back then, I had a better understanding of the league. Nowadays, I watch matches when time permits. After all, we have our own games to focus on and prepare for. In the matches I have seen, teams like CSKA and Krasnodar have shown a good level of football. I believe Zenit will catch up too, despite their early-season struggles. I don’t think the league has weakened,” Pilipchuk stated in an exclusive interview with Championship correspondent Oleg Lisenko.
