A 33-year-old man, hospitalized with serious injuries, has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder following the death of a 29-year-old woman in south-east London.
According to the Metropolitan Police, their officers were dispatched to a report of a stabbing at a residential property on Trafalgar Road in Greenwich at approximately 22:20 BST on Wednesday night.
The woman, whose identity has yet to be officially released, unfortunately passed away at the scene. A post-mortem examination has been conducted, as confirmed by police.
The suspect, who is believed to have had a connection with the woman, was apprehended at the location.
Detective Inspector Mark Franklin, who is overseeing the investigation, expressed, “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family, who are being supported by specialized officers during this incredibly challenging time.
“We understand that this incident will raise significant concern in the local community.
“Although we are confident this is an isolated event, there will be an increased police presence in the area for reassurance.
“If you have any concerns, please engage with one of the officers who are patrolling.”
